SPIDER BOY Non-Retirement Gallery
Oct 2010 - back at Towcester, with Harry Miller on board. A very decent second sees retirement on hold again. We had Fontwell on 2nd June in mind as Spidey's farewell appearance, but he ran well enough (much better than at Towcester) to think he may have a brief autumn campaign in him, especially if we have an in-house amateur rider to hand a few rides to.
How to keep a 71 times raced 13 year old on the go - open air bath/elevenses combinations that the youngsters have not yet earned! Spider Boy kindly provided an insight into his raceday thoughts from Fontwell for the pictures below.
"One has always found that you can scare off an opponent or two simply by looking ferocious - just like this!"
"I think I prefer it when it is snowing - too hot for racing today."
"See you back in the winners enclosure in ten minutes or so."
"What on earth are you playing at, you damn fool - careful up front!"
"Now do you believe me - Fontwell good, Towcester bad. Fontwell near, Towcester far. It's a simple formula."
"I am quite satisfied with that, now put the camera away and fetch a bucket of water, there's a good chap."
"Warm downs are important, and tug-o-war is as effective as anything." |
